July 31, 2009 - RPS Opens Two New Office Locations

Risk Placement Services added 2 New England offices to it's already growing National Network. Both are managing general agencies and wholesale insurance brokers providing insurance products for independent insurance agents and brokers throughout the Northeastern United States.

December 8, 2008 - RPS Acquires Treiber Agency Group

RPS announced the acquisitions of The Treiber Group LLC and Treiber Agency Group LLC, both located in Garden City, New York. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

With roots going back to 1899, The Treiber Group LLC is a retail insurance broker offering risk management, commercial and personal property/casualty, life and health insurance services to their clients in the New York tri-state area. They specialize in construction, surety, healthcare, executive risk and workers compensation insurance coverages.

Treiber Agency Group LLC is a wholesale insurance broker offering excess and surplus property/casualty coverage and other specialty insurance products and services to their independent retail agency clients throughout the Northeast.

The Treiber agencies will continue to operate in their current Long Island location under the direction of H. Craig Treiber, Peter Treiber, John Treiber, Scott Treiber, John Paterno, and Lou Roca. Their retail operation will report through Douglas Brown, Northeastern Regional Manager of Gallagher's retail property/casualty brokerage operation. The wholesale operation will report through Joel Cavaness, President of Risk Placement Services, Inc.

November 24, 2008 - RPS Acquires Continental Special Risks

Founded in 1984, Continental Special Risks is a wholesale insurance broker and managing general agent. They provide excess and surplus property/casualty coverage including professional and general liability, commercial package and property, and other specialty insurance products and services for their retail insurance agent clients throughout the Southeast. Robert M. Schacher, Donna L. Schacher and their associates will continue to operate out of their current location in Atlanta under the direction of Joel Cavaness, President of Risk Placement Services, Inc.

October 2008 - RPS Announces Four Promotions, Hires Ed Levy

Risk Placement Services, Inc. is pleased to announce several executive promotions and appointments across the United States.

Scott Anderson, formerly Area President, RPS Scottsdale, has been promoted to VP, National Operations. In this new role, Scott is responsible for identifying and achieving synergies and efficiencies that support the growth and expansion of RPS.

Curtis Anderson, Area Chairman, RPS Scottsdale, has been promoted to President, National Binding/Programs. His responsibilities include growing the division organically and identifying potential merger opportunities.

John Head, Area President, RPS Atlanta, has also been named VP, Eastern Region Brokerage. In addition to running the Atlanta office, he is now responsible for all RPS Eastern Region brokerage offices.

Joel Stinson, Area President, RPS Tulsa, has also been named VP, Central Region Binding/Programs. In addition to running the Tulsa office, he is now responsible for all RPS Binding/Program branches in the Central Region.

RPS has also hired Ed Levy, CPCU, ASLI, a 29-year industry veteran, as VP, Western Region, Binding/Programs. Ed is responsible for all RPS Binding/Program branches in the Western Region.

September 2008 - RPS Named The Largest MGA/Underwriting Manager

According to the September, 8th issue of Business Insurance Magazine, Risk Placement Services, Inc was named the largest MGA/Underwriter. This ranking is attributed to the highest wholesale premium volume in 2007 from property and casualty risks ($1,490,000,000) and attributes a 6.6% increase from the prior year.
